Why KytyPS5 exists
A free, open-source emulator for a console generation that's barely documented — built by the community, for the community.
KytyPS5 is a free and open-source PlayStation 5 emulator written in C++, based on a heavily modified version of the original Kyty project. It targets Windows, Linux and macOS — with Windows as the primary platform and macOS support still experimental.
The project is in an early stage of development, and it is honest about it. Today it can boot 2D games and a selection of 3D games — including titles built with Unreal Engine 4/5, Unity and custom engines — with no external low-level emulation modules required. Development is focused on compatibility and boot reliability, the fundamentals everything else depends on.
Like the games it runs, the emulator is x86-64 at its core. On Apple Silicon it runs under Rosetta 2, and Vulkan comes from the bundled MoltenVK — a small number of titles have already been verified in-game on Apple Silicon hardware.

Pourquoi KytyPS5 existe
Un émulateur libre dédié à une génération de consoles pour laquelle il existe très peu de documentation — développé par la communauté, pour la communauté.
KytyPS5 est un émulateur PlayStation 5 libre écrit en C++, basé sur une version fortement modifiée du projet Kyty original. Il est destiné à Windows, Linux et macOS — Windows étant la plateforme principale et la prise en charge de macOS étant encore au stade expérimental.
Le projet en est à un stade précoce de développement, et il ne s'en cache pas. À l'heure actuelle, il permet de lancer des jeux en 2D et une sélection de jeux en 3D — y compris des titres développés avec Unreal Engine 4/5, Unity et des moteurs personnalisés — sans nécessiter de modules d'émulation externes de bas niveau. Le développement se concentre sur la compatibilité et la fiabilité du démarrage, les fondements sur lesquels tout le reste repose.
À l’instar des jeux qu’il exécute, l’émulateur repose sur une architecture x86-64. Sur Apple Silicon, il fonctionne sous Rosetta 2, et Vulkan est fourni par le package MoltenVK intégré — un petit nombre de titres ont déjà été testés en conditions réelles sur du matériel Apple Silicon.
